要弄懂原作
"讀”是感的基礎，“感”是由“讀”而生。只有認真的讀書，弄懂難點疑點，理清文章的思路，透徹的掌握文章的內容和要點，深刻地領會原文精神所在，結合歷史的經驗、當前的形勢和個人的實際，才能真有所“感”。
要認真思考
讀后感的主體是“感”。要寫實感，還要在讀懂原作的基礎上作出自己的分析和評價。分析和評價是有所“感”的醞釀、集中和演化的過程，有了這個分析和評價，才有可能使“感”緊扣原作的主要思想和主要觀點，避免脫離原作，東拉西扯，離開中心太遠。 所以，寫讀后感就必須要邊讀邊思考，結合歷史的經驗，當前的形勢和自己的實際展開聯想，從書中的人和事聯系到自己和自己所見的人和事，那些與書中相近、相似，那些與書中相反、相對，自己贊成書中的什么，反對些什么，從而把自己的感想激發出來，并把它條理化，系統化，理論化。總之，想的深入，才能寫的深刻感人。
要抓住重點
讀完一篇（部）作品，會有很多感想和體會，但不能把他們都寫出來。讀后感是寫感受最深的一點，不是書評，不能全面地介紹和評價作品。因此，要認真地選擇對現實生活有一定意義的、有針對性的`感想，就可以避免泛泛而談，文章散亂，漫無中心和不與事例掛鉤等弊病。怎樣才能抓住重點呢？我們讀完一部作品或一篇文章后，自然會受到感動，產生許多感想，但這許多感想是零碎的，有些是模糊的，一閃而失。要寫讀后感，就要善于抓住這些零碎、甚至是模糊的感想，反復想，反復作比較，找出兩個比較突出的對現實有針對性的，再集中凝神的想下去，在深思的基礎上加以整理。也只有這樣，才能抓住具有現實意義的問題，寫出真實、深刻、用于解決人們在學習上、思想上和實踐上存在問題的有價值的感想來。
