　　Three hundred years later,this country has become a rich state.However,American Dream doesn't fade away.With the development of the history,it has many meanings today.What is the American Dream?different people hold different interpretations.but at any rate,American Dream contains several factors below:America offers every person an opportunity to succeed;Success depends on one's ability and effort regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position;Every person has equal rights;Every person has free belief.

　　When it comes to the 21st century-the information age,Bill Gates's success indicated that only if you have wisdom and talent,you can succeed in America.But American Dream has changed,compared with its original meanings.What's the true motivation behind American Dream?Some historians considered it the thirst for wealth .Pursuing money is the eternal theme ofAmerican Dream.However,the over pursuit of wealth makes American Dream turn bad and lost its attraction to people worldwide gradually.

　　我從小就喜歡旅游，上幼兒園起，我就夢想著出國去旅游。

　　四年級時，我本想和同學(xué)一起去新加坡，卻因為年齡太小，被爸爸媽媽拒絕。一轉(zhuǎn)眼，到了五年級的暑假，本打算去日本的我又對日本嚴(yán)重的甲型H1N1流感望而卻步。唉，我的夢想再一次破滅了。

　　現(xiàn)在，我已是七年級的學(xué)生了。一天，馮老對我們說：“今年暑假，我們又有出國去參加夏令營的活動。”我聽后高興極了：“嘿嘿，我又有機會圓夢了！”

　　中午，我飛快地吃完飯，然后飛奔到電話亭。

　　“滴滴，滴……”我撥通了媽媽的電話。“喂，媽媽，我們學(xué)校又組織去國外夏令營了，我想去美國。第一，我現(xiàn)在上初一，是個很關(guān)鍵的階段，美國是現(xiàn)在最發(fā)達的國家，我去那里增長了見識一定會有利于我的學(xué)習(xí)的。第二，此去美國有足足三十天時間，能夠給我一個充分的純英語環(huán)境，對我的英語學(xué)習(xí)會大有幫助。第三，美國的東西賣得便宜……”我把我所有的理由都一一搬了出來。終于，功夫不負有心人，在我的'軟磨硬泡后，媽媽總算說：“那好吧，反正你都這么大了，也該見見世面了。不過你一定要珍惜這次機會，出去多學(xué)點東西吧。”

　　我高興得跳了起來！我念叨了好幾年的夢想終于可以實現(xiàn)了！在回寢室的路上，我看見天出奇地藍，白云也仿佛變成了笑臉的形狀，以往搗蛋的同學(xué)，也都比平常順眼多了！

　　對了，去美國要住在居民家里，多學(xué)會一些英語的日常用語也是必不可少的。于是，我開始苦練英語，上課時，我比以前專心了許多。在上補習(xí)班的時候，我也讓老師給我強化了一下口語，漸漸的，我的英語會話能力提高了。

　　這次去美國，一定會讓我增長許許多多的見識，提高我的英語成績，也會讓我快樂。所以，我要好好珍惜這次機會，多學(xué)些知識，豐富我的人生。

　　the average family income of the u.s.a. has increased from 20,000 dollars per year in 1992 to 25,000 in 20xx. along with this considerable increase in people’s income, the way in which the average family spends its income has also varied to some extent. the average expenditure of family income is divided into several sectors, namely, housing, clothing, food and drink, transport, medical care, entertainment, savings and other items.

　　from the table, it is quite interesting to find that the money spent on some sectors such as food and drink (2%) and entertainment (6%) in 1992 and 20xx remains the same. for transport, the percentage of 20xx is only 1% larger than that of 1992. it is also worth mentioning that in 20xx, people tend to save less money than in 1992 because people deposit only half the money they used to in 1990. there is a greater increase in the expenses on housing and medical care, increasing by 8% and 6% respectively. on the other hand, people tend to spend less money on clothes, for there is a 5% decrease in 20xx compared with that in 1992. as far as other items are concerned, there is a sharp decrease in the percentage of family income spent on them, accounting for only 7% of the total.

　　it can be seen from the statistics that in american people’s life food and drink, entertainment and transport had always been important. with family income increasing, american people began to give first priority to housing and medical care, thereby improving their living conditions and invigorating health. by saving less, they presented to us the implication that they expected a fairly secure prospect.
