　　虛擬語氣在一些特殊詞中的使用或含蓄條件句

　　1.wish后的賓語從句。

　　與現在愿望不一致，用主語十過去時，例如：

　　I wi。hIwere you.

　　與過去愿望不一致，用主語+had+過去分詞，例如：Iwish I had visited the White House whenI was in the States與將來愿望不一致，用主語+would (could)+原形。

　　2.Its time句型：當lts tine后用that從句時應該為主i吾+should+動詞原形或主語十過去時，例如：It，s time thatyou went to school.或Its time that you should go to schooL

　　3- If only引起的感嘆句相當于“How I wish+賓語從句”。

　　(l)If only he could come.他要能來就好了。

　　(2)If only I had known the answer.我要早知道答案就好了。

　　4.WOuld rather，as if(though)引導的從句也需使用虛擬語氣，表示過去的情況用過去完成時，表示現在與將來的情況用過去時，例如：

　　(l)Id rather you posted the letter right away.

　　(2)She loves the children as if they were hers.

　　5.含蓄虛擬條件句含蓄條件句是指句中沒有明顯的虛擬條件句，而是利用其他手段來暗示存在虛擬條件。但是這類隱含式虛擬條件句往往都可以轉化為if引導的條件句。常用來表示含蓄虛擬條件的手段有：

　　(1)介詞或介詞短語。如but for，but that，without,in case of, under more favorable condition等。

　　(2)連詞。如so that, unless, in case, supposing,lest, provided(倘若……)，for fear that(唯恐)，in orderthat, on condition that, if only(要是……就好了)等。

　　注意：lest, for fear that和in case引起的從句中謂語動詞多用should+動詞原形，但也可以不用虛擬語氣，而用動詞的陳述語氣形式。例如：The foreign teacher spokeslowly in case we misunderstood him這位外籍教師說得很慢以免我們誤解。

　　(3)通過上下文及內在含義，句中往往有but,otherwise, unfortunately等類似轉折詞。

　　without, but. but for, otherwise引起的短語或句子常暗含著含蓄條件。例如：

　　①Without you,1 would never know him

　　②But for your oooperation, we wouldnt have done it

　　③But that she was afraid, she would have said no. .

　　④i would be most glad to help you, butI am busy now.

　　⑤I would have come to the party yesterday, but ljwas working.

　　⑥I am busy now, otherwise l would do you the favor!

　　1.prefer

　　prefer doing to talking 喜歡做而不喜歡說

　　Which of these two dresses do you prefer? 這兩套衣服你喜歡哪一套?

　　I prerer to go to America for my fruther study. 我更愿意選擇去美國進修學習。

　　連詞since 引導的時間狀語從句用一般過去時，介詞since 與表示過去某一點時間的詞語連用，副詞since 后不用從句或詞語。

　　It is/has been+一段時間+since+一般過去時(從句中的動作不能延續)自從……至今已經多久了。

　　= persuade sb into doing sth 說服某人做某事

　　He persuaded her to go to school, even though she did not want to.即使她不想去上學，他還是說服她去。

　　7.After graduating fro college, we finally got the chance to take a bike trip.大學畢業以后，我們終于有了機會騎自行車旅行。

　　8.It was my sister who first had the idea to cycle along the entire Mekong River from where it begins to where it ends.首先想到沿湄公河從源頭到終點騎車旅游的是我的姐姐。

　　強調句型It is/was…that/who 的用法歸納如下：

　　強調句型可以強調除謂語動詞以外的任何句子成份。一般來說，如果被強調部分是人時，用連詞that或who;如果被強調部分是物，只能用連詞that。 強調句型應避免使用when, where, which 等連詞。

　　含一般疑問句和特殊疑問句的強調句句型:

　　① 含一般疑問句的強調句型，其結構為：Is it+被強調部分+that/who+句子的其余部分?

　　② 特殊疑問句的強調句型結構形式為：特殊疑問詞+is/was it that/who+句子的其余部分?

　　Although she didn’t know the best way of getting to places, she insisted that she organize the trip properly.盡管她對去某些地方的路線并不清楚，她堅持要自己把這次旅行安排得盡善盡美。 (注意1：Although conj. “盡管，雖然”，引導讓步狀語從句。

　　拓展：

　　① although 從句多在句首， though 從句可在主句前、中、后任何位置，而且though 可以作副詞用于句末，作“但是，不過”講，而although 無此用法。

　　② although 用來陳述事實而不用于假設，所以as though(仿佛，好像)，even though(即使，盡管)中不能用although。

　　③ though 引導的讓步狀語從句可以倒裝(將表語、狀語、情態動詞后的動詞原形前置到句首，此用法同as),而 although 不可以。注意2：insist 在這里的意思是“堅持要求”后面的that從句用虛擬語氣;如果insist 意為“強調，堅持認為”的時候，從句可以用任何所需要的時態。

　　例如：She insisted that she didn’t tell a lie.她強調她沒撒謊。

　　另外，還可以用insist on doing sth/ sth. 一定要、堅持主張，

　　如：She insists on getting up early and playing her radio loudly她老是一大早起來把收音機音量開大。)

　　11.care about details 考慮細節

　　The only thing he cares about is money. 他在乎的就是金錢。

　　care for 喜歡，照料，照顧 I don’t really care for red wine. 我其實并不喜歡紅葡萄酒。

　　Who will care for your child if you are out? 如果你外出了，誰來照顧你的孩子?

　　Once 可作為從屬連詞，作“一(旦)……就……”解，連接一個表示時間的狀語從句。從句中常用一般現在時，現在完成時表將來。

　　如：Once you have begin you must continue.

　　Once printed，the book will be very popular。

　　一般過去將來時

　　1.概念：立足于過去某一時刻，從過去看將來，常用于賓語從句中。

　　2.時間狀語：The next day (morning, year…),the following month(week…),etc.

　　3.基本結構：主語

　　+was/were +going to + do+其它;主語+would/should + do+其它

　　4.否定形式：主語+was/were+not + going to + do; 主語+would/should + not + do.

　　5.一般疑問句：was或were放于句首;would/should 提到句首。

　　6.例句：He said he would go to Beijing the next day.他說他第二天要去北京。

　　I asked who was going there.我問，誰要去那里。

　　現在進行時

　　1.概念：表示現階段或說話時正在進行的動作及行為。

　　2.時間狀語：Now, at this time, days, etc. look. listen

　　3.基本結構：主語+be +doing +其它

　　4.否定形式：主語+be +not +doing+其它

　　5.一般疑問句：把be動詞放于句首。

　　6.例句：How are you feeling today?你今天感覺如何?

　　He is doing well in his lessons.在課上他表現得很好。

　　關系代詞

　　兩種可用來引導從句并將從句和主句連接起來的代詞

　　這樣的代詞一方面在從句中用作句子成分，可作主語、賓語、定語等;另一方面又起連詞的作用。這樣的代詞有關系代詞和疑問代詞兩種。

　　關系代詞概說

　　關系代詞有who，whose，whom，that，which等，用來引導定語從句。它們在定語從句中可用作主語、賓語、定語或表語;另一方面它們又代表主句中為定語從句所修飾的那個名詞或代詞(這樣的名詞和代詞叫做先行詞)。如：

　　The man who is talking with Mr. Brown is an eye Specialist和布朗先生談話的那個人是個眼科大夫。(關系代詞who在從句中用作土語，它的先行詞是man)

　　He is the comrade whom you have been looking for他就是你要找的那位同志。(關系代詞whom在從句中作賓語，它的先行詞是comrade，whom在口語中一般可省去)

　　The old man whose son is in the navy used to be carpenter.兒子在海軍的那位老人過去是個木匠。

　　(關系代詞whose在從句中用作定語，先行詞為man)

　　The film which I saw last night is about a young teacher.我昨晚看的那部電影說的是一個年輕教師的事。(關系代詞which在從句中用作賓語，先行詞為film, which在口語中可省略)

　　This is the plane that will fly to Tokyo in the afternoon.這是下午要飛往東京的飛機。(關系代詞that在從句中用作主語，先行詞為plane)

　　一、重要單詞用法例析

　　1. below prep. & adv.在……下面，低于

　　Do not write below the line.不要該橫線下寫字。

　　I live on the floor below.我住在下一層。

　　2. concentrate vt. & vi.集中于，專注

　　I tried my best to concentrate my thoughts on the problem.我努力讓自己集中思想在這個問題上。

　　3. meanwhile adv.在此其間，與此同時

　　The train won’t leave for an hour. Meanwhile we can have lunch.火車還有一個小時才開，其間我們可以吃中飯。

　　Tom was at home studying. Meanwhile, Jon was out playing. Tom在家學習，與時同時Jon外出玩耍。

　　搭配：in the meanwhile同時，在此期間

　　In the meanwhile I’ll visit an old friend of mine.在這期間我將去拜訪我的一位老朋友。

　　4. gifted adj.有天分的;有天賦的

　　He is a gifted musician.他是天才音樂家。

　　5. seldom adv.很少

　　There is seldom snow in Guangdong.廣東很少下雪。

　　He seldom goes out on Sundays, does he?星期天他很少出去，對嗎?

　　Seldom has there been such a happy meeting.過去很少有過這樣愉快的會議。

　　注意：

　　(1)其后的反意疑問句用肯定式;

　　(2)位于句首時，謂語用部分倒裝。

　　6. occupation n.職業;占用，占據

　　Teaching is me occupation.教書是我的職業。

　　The old house is under my occupation.這所舊宅現已為我所有。

　　辨析：occupation表示職業，較為正式，常用于表格;work工作，不可數名詞;job職業，可數名詞，可指單獨一個任務，也可指工作職位;profession工作，是指需要特別技能/訓練和高等教育的工作;trade是指手藝工。

　　7. eager adj.渴望的，熱切的

　　She is eager to go home.她很想回家。

　　He is eager for a computer.他渴望有臺電腦。

　　辨析：be anxious to do sth急于做……(強調著急)

　　8. acquire vt.獲得，取得

　　She acquired a knowledge of the English by careful study.她認真學習而精通英語。

　　9. deny vt.不認，拒絕

　　He denied telling me. =He denied that he had told me.他否認他告訴過我。

　　注意：后接動詞作賓語時，只能用-ing形式。

　　10. employ vt.雇用，使用

　　We employed a cook.我們雇用了一個廚師。

　　How do you employ your spare time?你是怎樣利用你的空余時間的?

　　He is employed in watering the flowers.他正忙于給花澆水。

　　11. cover vt.蓋，遍布，走，采訪

　　The Red Army covered 500 kilometers one day.紅軍一天要行走500公里。

　　All the papers like to cover the affairs of the famous persons.很多報紙喜歡報道名人的韻事。
