　　In ancient Greece there once lived a clever man.His name was Aesop.

　　One day,when Aesop was taking a walk in the country,a traveler stopped him and said,"Kind sir,can you tell me how soon I can get to town?"

　　"Go."Aesop answered.

　　"I know I must go,"said the traveler,"But I want to know how soon I can get to town."

　　"Go."Aesop shouted to him.

　　The traveler was very angry."This man must be mad,"he thought.And he walked away.

　　Suddenly he heard Aesop shouting to him,"You will get to town in two hours."

　　The traveler was greatly surprised.He turned back and ask-ed,"Why didn't you tell me that before?”

　　"How could I have told you that before?"answered Aesop,"I didn't know how fast you could walk."

　　Usually I would do some exercises on the weekend，because I thought keeping in a good health can help me study well. Last weekend, It was rainning outside so I decided to do some exercises in the gym. When I went into the gym, some people were doing exercises there. A man was doing weight training and trying his best to upraise heavier weight. There were two girls running on the treadmill（跑步機），neither too fast nor too slow. In the next room there was a fitness instructor(健身教練) was teaching some young people doing yoga（瑜珈）, which made they do some strange actions.

　　After some minutes' warm up (熱身)，I started to run on the treadmill and ride on the exercise bike（健身腳踏車）. Both of them were easy and good for most of people. Besides，I did some dumbbell （啞鈴）exercises ,seating type chest pushing, high pulling force back muscle training, butterfly clamp chest muscle training, thigh stretching, leg treading, abdomen muscle training, vertical pulling force training. 　　In a GREat hurry,I didn＇t hear clearly the head waiter＇s instruction that we should go into the kitchen through one door and out from the other.So when I took two plates of eggs and bacon and an orange juice out to the restaurant,I went straight towards the wrong door and collided with another waiter coming in!

　　Worst of all was that I wore a pair of smart shoes but with high heels! A few hours later I was in agony yet had no time to change them. By the time we finished serving dinner at about 10:30 I was completely exhausted. Nevertheless, I learnt something through my experience.

　　Why I Go to College?

　　When I was a little girl, I always wanted to go to college. Now I am a freshman of a key university. I have asked myself the same question so many times：Why I go to college? You may say: you go to college just because you want to have a good job after graduation. Well, why I come to college is not for one single reason, but for many.

　　The major reason is that I need to further my education and know more about the outside world. In high school, I was always feeling not enough to get knowledge from the textbooks and I didn’t have enough time to travel to see the outside world. But in the college, I have abundant time to read the books I’m interested in and travel to different places to broaden my horizon.

　　Moreover, college is such an ideal place to make new friends who come from different places and I can learn about the different culture. As I am a typically southerner, I find there are many differences between north and south after I come to college, such as the way they talk, and the food they used to eat. Before I went to college, I admit I never pay attention to these. And I don’t want to be a person with a tunnel vision; I want to make more friends during the four years.

　　Last but not least, staying the university can give me enough time to prepare when I step into the society, I can do some part-time job and get myself ready. With the working experience and degree, I can find an ideal job. I know it is going to be harder when I graduate from college, but I’m not afraid. I’ll spare no efforts to make my dream come true.

　　I really enjoy the life in college. And I will learn experience and challenge myself in this four year and be a better man.

　　當我還是個小女孩的時候，我就一直想要讀大學。現在，我已經是一名重點大學的新生了。我曾經問過我自己同樣的問題很多遍：為什么我要上大學?你也許會說：你讀大學只是為了找一份好工作。我讀大學只是為了不僅僅是因為這個原因，還有其他原因。

　　最后，讀大學讓我有更多的時間來為進入社會做準備。我可以做些兼職為將來做打算。有了工作經驗和學位證，我就能找到一份理想的工作。我知道未來的路會更艱辛，但是我不怕。我會不予余力的努力實現我的夢想。

　　我很享受我的大學生活。在這大學的四年中，我會努力去學習、去體驗、去挑戰自我，成為一個更好的人。
