Get two representatives of two groups to do presentations, talking about1) World War II2) the D-Day Landings. (6')
Summarize the D-Day glossary. (2')
Allies: Countries that fought against the Axis Powers.
Allied Expeditionary Force (AEF): under the command of General Eisenhower. Twelve nations supplied troops and material for it, including the United States , Canada , France , and the United Kingdom .
Axis Powers: The alliance of Germany , Italy , and Japan .
Operation Overlord: code name for the military operation in 1944 to invade France .
D-Day / H-Hour: The terms D-Day and H-Hour are used for the day and hour on which an attack or operation is to be launched. "D" for the day of the invasion and "H" for the hour the operation actually begins.
D-Day landings: D-Day Invasion or Invasion of Normandy

案例分析 :
首先談一下我準(zhǔn)備這節(jié)課的思路。本課是一節(jié)閱讀課。在仔細(xì)研究和分析了課文內(nèi)容后，我發(fā)現(xiàn)這篇課文分成三篇小文章，以二戰(zhàn)為背景，諾曼底登陸為線索，三篇文章內(nèi)容各不相同，但卻有內(nèi)在的聯(lián)系。因此我在備課過(guò)程中，針對(duì)三篇文章內(nèi)容的特點(diǎn)，設(shè)計(jì)了不同的方法。
第一篇著眼于二戰(zhàn)和諾曼底登陸的整體介紹，由于內(nèi)容比較簡(jiǎn)單，因此我設(shè)計(jì)了聽(tīng)力的形式，理解練習(xí)也針對(duì)二戰(zhàn)和諾曼底登陸的梗概入手，并配上介紹作戰(zhàn)計(jì)劃的`地圖，以便使學(xué)生對(duì)這一軍事行動(dòng)有整體的印象。
第二篇短文，著眼于戰(zhàn)斗中的一個(gè)片斷，屬于細(xì)節(jié)描寫(xiě)，我就選用了課文中的練習(xí)，讓學(xué)生從細(xì)節(jié)入手，把握短文，同時(shí)，為了讓學(xué)生對(duì)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的殘酷有一個(gè)更直觀的印象，我剪輯了電影“拯救大兵瑞恩”的開(kāi)頭，它描寫(xiě)的正是諾曼底登陸中奧馬哈海灘的部分，生動(dòng)地再現(xiàn)了當(dāng)時(shí)作戰(zhàn)的景象。
第三篇是關(guān)于諾曼底登陸 60 周年紀(jì)念的內(nèi)容，除了通過(guò)練習(xí)理解了短文的內(nèi)容之外，主要通過(guò)文中提到的那首詩(shī)的處理來(lái)挖掘出同學(xué)們的情感世界，有助于深化本課的主題。經(jīng)過(guò)一層層的鋪墊，引出本課的主題 --- 建立穩(wěn)定和諧的世界
然后談一下這節(jié)課的設(shè)計(jì)理念。我認(rèn)為第六模塊有這樣幾個(gè)特點(diǎn)： 1 、信息量大 2 、跨學(xué)科的特點(diǎn)很明顯 3 、人文特色很濃。結(jié)合新課標(biāo)的要求和理念，我在這節(jié)課的準(zhǔn)備和實(shí)施中，力求體現(xiàn)以下幾種新課標(biāo)的理念
1 .采用學(xué)生自主探究和合作學(xué)習(xí)的模式，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生主動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí)，鼓勵(lì)他們通過(guò)體驗(yàn)、實(shí)踐、討論、合作和探究等方式，發(fā)展聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫(xiě)的綜合語(yǔ)言技能。鍛煉他們用英語(yǔ)獲取信息、處理信息和傳達(dá)信息的能力。主要做法是：針對(duì)本課文章背景豐富，涵蓋的信息量大，跨學(xué)科的內(nèi)容多這些特點(diǎn)，提前幾天在班中布置探究學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)，學(xué)生可根據(jù)興趣愛(ài)好自愿組合。我在認(rèn)真研究教材后，選取所需的內(nèi)容讓學(xué)生去搜集，調(diào)查。根據(jù)三段文章的內(nèi)容，我布置了三個(gè)題目，二戰(zhàn)、諾曼底登陸和反法西斯六十周年紀(jì)念，以便更好的為課堂服務(wù)，又不脫離主題。學(xué)生在準(zhǔn)備的過(guò)程中可以利用各種學(xué)習(xí)資源完成這一學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)，可以自由發(fā)揮但必須為主題服務(wù)，這也要求學(xué)生在準(zhǔn)備之前，有必要對(duì)課文進(jìn)行預(yù)習(xí)，把握好課文的主題 .
2. 體現(xiàn)多元化的教學(xué)活動(dòng)類(lèi)型。
1 )探究活動(dòng)。將學(xué)生分成小組，運(yùn)用英語(yǔ)完成一個(gè)具體的任務(wù)。比如，本課中三組學(xué)生分別完成的二戰(zhàn)、諾曼底登陸和反法西斯勝利的介紹。
2 )合作學(xué)習(xí)活動(dòng)。本課中學(xué)生分組選擇某一專(zhuān)題， 并針對(duì)該專(zhuān)題收集圖片和信息，采用展覽的形勢(shì)向全班同學(xué)匯報(bào)展出。
3 )即興發(fā)言與討論。本課中提出 What can we learn from the passage? 這一問(wèn)題，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生即興發(fā)表個(gè)人的見(jiàn)解或意見(jiàn)。
3 .有意識(shí)的培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的情感態(tài)度。本課的人文色彩很濃，抓住本課話題的這一特點(diǎn)，通過(guò)多種課堂活動(dòng)，形成祖國(guó)意識(shí)、拓展國(guó)際視野，培養(yǎng)正確的世界觀。比如：通過(guò)大量二戰(zhàn)信息的呈現(xiàn)，了解和熟悉歷史;通過(guò)電影片斷的欣賞，再現(xiàn)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的殘酷;通過(guò)詩(shī)歌鑒賞，體會(huì)世界人民痛恨戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)、渴望和平的美好愿望。
