5. attend, take part in, join和join in

attend, take part in, join和join in都表示“參加”的意思。但是，attend 通常與meeting, lecture，school，class等搭配。Attend還有“照顧”的意思。take part in 常常指參加一個重大的活動。join表示參加一個“組織”、“團體”等, 也可以說加入某人, join sb, 而join in表示參加一項活動。如join in (doing) sth, join sb in (doing) sth.

6. This sounded like my school in China.

sound 作連系動詞，表示“聽起來”，后面可跟形容詞、like加名詞，或從句。
