一、重點詞匯

1. trial n. 試用；試驗；考驗；審判

This new drug is undergoing clinical trial.

on trial 在試驗中；受審 He is on trial for murder.

trial and error 反復試驗；不斷摸索

It was by/through trial and error that I learnt most of what I know about gardening.

2. note v. 注意到，發現；記錄

note sth. down 把……記下來 The policeman noted down every word she said.

note 作名詞時的相關短語：

make/take a note/notes of... 把……記下來 take note of 注意到

take/make notes 做筆記 be noted for/as 因為/作為……而出名

leave a note 留下便條

She sat there taking notes of everything that was said.

3. name v. 給……命名; 說出……的名字; 提名

name sb. sth. 給某人取名為…… name... after... 以……名字命名

The child was named after its father.

name 作名詞時的相關短語：

by the name of 名叫……的 in the name of 以……的名義

4. wonder adj. 非凡的，奇妙的，神奇的 n.奇跡，神奇；奇觀；驚奇 v. 想知道

注意 wonder 的重點句型：

It's a wonder that you recognized me after all these years. 奇怪的是……

5. relief n

緩和，減輕 The pills gave her some relief.

bring relief to sb. 給某人帶來欣慰/解脫,減輕某人的痛苦

relieve v. 減輕(病痛、憂慮、負擔等），緩解；救濟

relieve pains/ anxiety/pressure/ traffic jams...

6. pleasure n.

注意：“quantities of+可數名詞與不可數名詞”作主語，后面的名詞無論是可數名詞的復數

還是不可數名詞，謂語都用復數；“a quantity of+可數名詞與不可數名詞”做主語，謂語動

詞與名詞保持一致。

a dream come true 是固定短語，意為“夢想成真”.

需注意的是如果come true 單獨使用的話，后面不接賓語。如：
