1. colour顏色

colour用作名詞。本課中主要出現(xiàn)了生活中常見的顏色，如red紅色的，brown棕色的，orange桔色的，pink[pink]粉紅色的，grey灰色的，purple['p:pl]紫色的。英美人還常用表示顏色的詞作為姓，但第一個(gè)字母須大寫，如：White懷特，Green格林，Brown布朗，Black布萊克。

(1) What colour is it? It's red.

它是什么顏色的？它是紅色的。

What colour are they? They are blue.

它們是什么顏色的？它們是藍(lán)色的。

也可答：One is red and one is grey.

一種是紅色，一種是灰色。

上句中these，those或they都是復(fù)數(shù)，故動(dòng)詞要用are。what colour是疑問詞“什么顏色”，不論句子的主語(yǔ)是單數(shù)還是復(fù)數(shù)，colour一詞只能使用單數(shù)形式。如：

誤：What colours are the cats?

正：What colour are the cats?

在以what colour引導(dǎo)的疑問句中，be動(dòng)詞的單、復(fù)數(shù)形式要根據(jù)主語(yǔ)(即所問事物)來(lái)決定。如：

What colour is the apple?(主語(yǔ)為單數(shù)，使用is)

What colour are the birds?(主語(yǔ)為復(fù)數(shù)，使用are)

(2) colour作動(dòng)詞用時(shí)，意為“給……著色”

如：Colour it green. 把它涂上綠色。

We like to colour the wall white.

我們喜歡把墻壁涂白。

2. Who's that boy? 那個(gè)男孩是誰(shuí)？

Which one? 哪一個(gè)？

The small one. 小個(gè)的那個(gè)。

The one on the black bike. 騎黑自行車的那個(gè)。

3. Can't you see? 難道你沒看見嗎？

這是一個(gè)否定疑問句，多用來(lái)表示驚訝、感嘆、贊美等。如：

Aren't you a good teacher?難道你不是一位好老師嗎？

Can't you see the book on the desk? 難道你沒看見桌上的那本書嗎？

同學(xué)們要特別注意否定疑問句的回答，要針對(duì)實(shí)際情況，事實(shí)是肯定的，就要用yes；事實(shí)是否定的，就要用no來(lái)回答。試比較下列英漢不同：

Aren't you Li Lei? 難道你不是李雷嗎？

Yes, I am . 不，我是李雷。

Isn't he your father? 難道他不是你父親嗎？

No, he isn't. 是，他不是我父親。

4. The one in the red coat.穿著紅色外套的那一位(婦女)

此句應(yīng)注意以下兩點(diǎn)：

(1)注意區(qū)別one與it的用法。it指代的是前面提到的人或事物；此句中的one是代詞，指前面提到的同類人或事物中的某一個(gè)，不是原來(lái)的人或事物。且the，this，that可放在代詞one前起修飾作用。如：

This book is new. That one is old. 這本書是新的，那本書是舊的。

(2)in the red coat為介詞短語(yǔ)。其中in表示“穿著，戴”之意。如：in the hat戴著帽子。介詞短語(yǔ)是由介詞(on，in，under，behind等)后接名詞或代詞的賓格形式構(gòu)成的，常表示事物的方位、狀態(tài)等。如：

My pencil is in the bag. 我的鉛筆在書包里。

介詞短語(yǔ)也可作定語(yǔ)修飾名詞，且一般放在修飾詞之后，故稱后置定語(yǔ)。此句中的in the red coat就是此用法。如：

The girl under the tree is Kate.樹下那個(gè)女孩是凱特。

若對(duì)作后置定語(yǔ)的介詞短語(yǔ)進(jìn)行提問時(shí)，要用疑問詞which。如：

The bag in the desk is Wei Hua's.

Which bag is Wei Hua's?

例：

The one in the green car. 坐在綠色小汽車?yán)锏哪且晃弧?/p>

The one on the black bike. 騎著黑色自行車的那一位。

The one in the red coat. 穿紅色外套的那一位。

The one behind the tree. 在樹后面的那一位。

以上例句中in the green car, on the black bike, in the red coat, behind the tree都是介詞短語(yǔ)，用作定語(yǔ)來(lái)分別修飾the one。介詞短語(yǔ)一般放在被修飾語(yǔ)的后面。on the bike表示“騎在自行車上”，in the red coat中的in表示“穿著，戴著”。例如：

The girl on the green bike is Li Ping. 騎著綠色自行車的那個(gè)女孩是李萍。

The man in the blue sweater is my father. 穿著藍(lán)色毛衣的那個(gè)男人是我的父親。

練習(xí)：

（1）The red bike is Jim’s.

which bike is Jim’s?

（2）These green apples are big.

5. It looks very nice. 它看上去很漂亮。

I want a sweater like this. 我想要一件這樣的毛衣。

look在這里意為“看上去”，like在這里是介詞，意為“像”。例如：

Lily's mother looks very young. 莉莉的媽媽看上去很年輕。

The boy looks like his father. 那個(gè)男孩看起來(lái)像他的父親。

（六）Colour it green, please. 請(qǐng)把它染成綠色。

colour在這里是動(dòng)詞，意為“把……染成……”，前面學(xué)過(guò)的句型what colour中的colour是名詞。例如：

What colour is your bag? 你的包是什么顏色的？

It's blue. 它是藍(lán)色的。

Colour the picture green and yellow, please. 請(qǐng)把這張圖片涂成綠色和黃色。

(1)元音字母Uu在重讀開音節(jié)中讀[ju:]，有時(shí)讀[u:]，在重讀閉音節(jié)中讀[ ]，例如：
