一.教學內容：

Main task:

Write a letter to the principal to recommend a classmate to be the chairperson of your school’s Students’ Union.

Task:

1. Learn about 12 star signs.

2. Use adjectives to describe friends.

3. Use “It is +adjective + ‘of’…+ ‘（not） to’ -infinitive ”to express what we think of someone’s actions.

4. Use “Verb ‘to be’+ adjective + ‘enough’ + ‘to’-infinitive ” to describe a person’s personality and abilities.

1. It’s nice of you to bring me the newspaper, Hobo. 霍波，你真是太好了，幫我把報紙拿來了。

It is +adj.（形容詞）+ of sb.+ to do sth. 表示我們對某人某種行為的看法。

e.g. It is kind of him to help me.

It is silly of you not to forgive others for their faults.

2. It says I’ll have lots to eat and drink today. 它（報紙）上寫我今天有很多吃的、喝的。

It says… 表示報紙上“寫道……”，我們通常不說 It writes…

e.g. The radio says it will rain tomorrow.

3. Well, you shouldn’t worry about not having breakfast then. 那么，你不應該為沒有早飯吃而擔心了。

worry about “為…而擔心”；worry about doing sth. “為做…擔心”

e.g. Don’t worry about your study.

Reading

1. A year is divided into 12 different star signs. 一年分為12個不同的星座。

be divided into… 是一個被動語態，表示“…被分成…”

e.g. Our class is divided into six groups.

All things can be divided into two.

2. Some people think that you are selfish at times. 有些人認為你有時自私。

at times 相當于 sometimes, from time to time

3. You are patient and do not give up easily. 你有耐心，不輕易放棄。

give up “放棄”，表示“放棄做某事”要用 “give up doing sth.”

save ‘節省’, 如 save time

6. You like to buy your friends nice gifts. 你樂意給朋友買好看的禮物。

buy sb. sth.= buy sth. for sb. 為某人買某物

上句也可寫成： You like to buy nice gifts for your friends.

gift 常表示“小禮物”，“正規禮物”常用present 表示

7. You are practical and you always pay attention to details. 你心靈手巧，總是注意、在意細節。

e.g. Don’t pay much attention to these details. It is not good for your health.

8. You love peace and do not like to argue with others. 你愛好和平，不喜歡和別人爭論。

argue with sb. “和…爭論”

e.g. Tom often argues with others. He needs to be more modest.

9. You are patient enough to wait without getting angry. 你足夠耐心地等待別人，不生氣。

be +adj.+ enough to do sth. 表示某人的個性或能力

e.g. Amy is outgoing enough to make friends easily.

This book is easy enough for an eight-year-old boy to read.

Kitty is creative enough to be an artist.
