1. want to do 想做某事
△want想、欲、愿（與wish同義）及物動詞
want sth. 要某物。如：
She wants an apple. 她想要一個蘋果。
表示想要做某事時，應說want to do，這里的to do是不定式短語，作want的賓語。例如：
I don’t want to play basketball.
我不想打籃球。
They want to see action movies.
他們想看動作片。
△want與like都是行為動詞也叫實義動詞，構成疑問句與否定句時，要用助動詞do（詳見Unit 6）。如果主語是三人稱單數，謂語動詞也要用三人稱單數does。如：

你想看電影嗎？

答：also與too都有“也”的意思。
一般來說also是比較正式的用語，它經常出現在句子中間，常見的位置是放在行為動詞之前，系動詞be之后；如果有助動詞或情態動詞，一般放在助動詞或情態動詞之后，表示強調的時候也出現在句末，例如：
His mother is also a teacher. 他的媽媽也是個教師。
He can also play baseball. 他也會打棒球。
Tom also draws at home. 湯姆也在家畫畫。
too是普通用詞，多用于口語，常置于句末，與前面的句子用逗號隔開。例如：
I want to go there, too. 我也要去那里。
Linda is a student, too. 琳達也是個學生。

問：連詞but和and用法和意義上有什么區別？
答：but意為“但是”，是連詞，用來連接具有轉折關系的兩個并列句，它的前面通常要有逗號。例如：

問：about在作介詞和副詞時有什么特點？
答：about作介詞用，意思是“關于，對于”。例如：

I can see a football under the bed. 我能看到床下有個足球。
watch意為“觀看”、“注視”，常指較長時間集中注意力地觀看，或注視正在運動中的人或事物。例如：“看電視”，“看比賽”中的“看”。
They are watching TV. 他們在看電視。
The students are watching basketball game. 學生們正在看籃球賽。
read意為“看”，通常指看文字類的東西，如：“看書”“看報”“看雜志”等。例如：
John is reading a book. 約翰在看書。

What is your favorite season? 你最喜歡哪個季節？
favorite還可以作為名詞使用，表示“特別喜愛的人或物”。例如：

（3）also（此題考查too與also的區別，見上欄講解。）
（4）In fact（事實上），really（real是形容詞，really是副詞。）
7. What kind of movies do you think they like? 你認為他們喜歡什么類型的電影？
問：kind表示“種類”時有哪些特殊的用法？
答：kind表示“種類”，是它最基本的用法，可以和介詞of搭配然后接名詞。如：
a kind of book 一種書
different kinds of animals 不同種類的動物
all kinds of flowers 各種各樣的花
the best kind of computers 最好的計算機
kind可以與what搭配，構成疑問句。例如：
What kind of man is he? 他是哪種人？
提問“哪一種”或“哪一類”都可以套用這個句式。
What kind of＋n.... ? 句型也可用which來代替what。但which詢問“哪一個”或“哪一些”時，表示選擇。例如：
What apple do you want to eat? 你想吃什么樣的蘋果？（沒有給出選擇對象）
Which kind of movies do you like best? 你想看哪種影片？
Which kinds of movies do you like best? 你喜歡看哪些種類的影片？
8. He often goes to see Beijing Opera on weekends. 他經常在周末去看京劇。
問：often和usually有什么區別？weekends的介詞可以用at嗎？
答：（1）often和usually都表示動作的頻率。often意為“常常，時�！�，著重指動作的發生次數，強調經常性。usually意為“通常”，含有“遵循常規、一貫如此”之意，表示習慣動作。例如：
What do you often do on Sundays? 星期天你經常做什么？
We often clean our classroom after class. 我們經常課后打掃教室。
We usually read English in the morning. 我們通常早上讀英語。
They usually play football in the afternoon. 他們通常在下午踢足球。
（2）on weekends意為“在周末”，也可以用介詞at，通常指星期六、星期天。例如：
What do you usually do on weekends? 你周末通常做什么？
Young people usually go to movies on weekends. 年輕人通常周末去看電影。
和on/at weekends相對應的詞組是on/at weekdays，指從星期一到星期五的時間。例如：
We study at weekdays. 星期一到星期五我們學習。
We go to school at six on weekdays. 從星期一到星期五我們六點上學。
9. 關于時間狀語的說法，先看例題
根據漢語提示翻譯下列表示時間的短語

2）當表示時間的詞前有next時，其前面不用介詞。例如：
next Sunday （Monday…Saturday）
next month（week, year, term）
next spring (summer, autumn, winter)
以上next的前面沒有加冠詞“the”，表示的時間是以現在為依據；如果next前加“the”，則表示的時間是以過去某一時間為依據。例如：
the next day, the next morning (afternoon, evening, night)
the next May (June, July…)
the next spring (summer, autumn, winter)
3）當表示時間的詞前有last時，其前面不用介詞。例如：
last Sunday （Monday …Saturday）
last week （month, year, term…）
last spring （summer, autumn, winter）
last January （February, March, April…）
last night
但是“昨天上午、下午和晚上”均不能用last，而應該說yesterday morning, yesterday afternoon, yesterday evening。
