3. make up one’s mind

make up one’s mind 相當于decide后面接不定式或從句，one’s要與主語一致，mind可以用復數。

He made up his mind to catch up with his classmate.

He has made up his mind that he will be a doctor for animals when he grows up.

The students in Class 4 all made up their minds to study hard.

decide 表示在幾件事或幾個人當中經過選擇。

make up one’s mind 是指下定決心做某事，不可改變

She decided to be a teacher instead of an engineer.

Once he has made up his mind, he won’t change it.

4. before long / long before

A. before long “不久以后”相當于soon, a little later.

I hope to see you before long.

我希望不久能見到你。

Before long I met her in the hotel again.

B. long before“很久以前”相當于long long ago.

once, once upon a time 等常用于講故事的開頭。

Long before there lived a king.

I heard of it long before.

5. heal / treat

A. heal是及物動詞，“治愈、醫好，”指結果，作不及物動詞，“傷口愈合、痊愈，”后接over或up

A. regard …as思想上、感情上“將…看成是，暗含說話人”

根據外部情況所得出的估價。

C. have / take …as“把…看成是…”，指經過考慮得出

7. as if 好像、似乎
