六. 重、難點解析

1. 頻度副詞

always, usually, often, sometimes, hardly和never是英語中最常見的頻度副詞，它們在句中的位置大致相同：通常放在行為動詞之前，系動詞be、助動詞和情態動詞之后。但它們所表示的含義及頻度是各不相同的。

（1）always的頻度為100%，表示動作重復、狀態繼續，中間沒有間斷，意思是“總是”、“永遠地”。例如：

The sun always rises in the east and sets in the west.

太陽總是東升西落。

Customers are always right.

顧客永遠是對的。

▲always與進行時態連用，并不強調動作正在進行，而是表示說話人的“贊揚”、“不滿”、“厭煩”等情緒，有強烈的感情色彩。例如：

She is always thinking of how she can do more for people.

她總是在考慮怎樣為人們多做些事。（表示贊揚）

He was always asking for money.

他總是要錢。（表示厭煩）

She is always asking for leave.

她總是請假。（表示不滿）

▲always與not連用，表示部分否定，意思是“不總是”。例如：

The rich are not always happy.

有錢人未必總是幸福的。

（2）usually的頻度為70%左右，意為“通常”、“平常”，即很少有例外。例如：

He usually goes to bed at ten o’clock.

他通常10點鐘睡覺。

（3）often的頻度為50%左右，意為“常常”，但不如usually那么頻繁，表示動作重復，中間有間斷。例如：

He is often late for school.

他上學經常遲到。

▲very often語氣比often重，常位于句首或句末。例如：

He doesn’t go to London very often.

他不常去倫敦。

（4）sometimes的頻度為20%左右，意為“有時”，表示動作偶爾發生。可以位于句首，以示強調。例如：

It is sometimes hot and sometimes cold.

天氣忽冷忽熱。

Sometimes he does it this way and sometimes he does it that way.

他有時這樣做，有時那樣做。

（5） hardly的頻度為5%左右，意為“幾乎不”、“簡直不”，常和ever連用表示強調。例如：

I hardly ever go out these days.

這些天我幾乎不出門。

（6）never的頻度為0，意為“從來不”、“永不”。例如：

My parents are never late for work.

我父母上班從來不遲到。

2. 注意sometimes與幾個形似的詞的區別。

a. sometime是副詞，意為“在某個時候”，“某時”

eg：Will you come again sometime next week?

She was there sometime last year.

b. some time是名詞詞組，意為“一段時間”，做時間狀語用

eg：I will stay here for some time.

He worked on the trouble for some time.

c. some times是名詞詞組，意為“幾次，幾倍”。

eg：I met him some times in the street last month.

The factory is some times larger than that one.

3. 不定代詞all“全部”，most“大部分”，some“一些”，no“沒有一個”的用法，這些詞可以在句中作主語、賓語、表語或定語。

eg：All the waiters in the restaurant are very busy.

All the students in our school have to wear school uniforms.

I know most people in this party.

Gina has some beautiful scarfs.

No children can sing this song.

4. 疑問詞how的用法

（1）怎樣，用什么手段，方法。

How did he do it?

I don’t know how to swim.

（2）情況如何（指身體健康狀況）

How are you?

How’s it going with Tom?

（3）how many，how much表示“多少”

how many后接可數名詞復數，how much接不可數名詞。

How many times do you go to the park?

How many tickets do we need?

How much water is there?

How much are those pants?

（4）how often是對動作發生的“次數”提問

eg：How often do you play tennis?

How often do you surf the internet.

5. time表示不可數名詞，意為“時間”。

表示可數名詞，意為“次數，倍數”。

eg：What time is it?

Time and tide never wait for men.

I go to the movies three times a week.

The size of the new museum is four times larger than the old one.

注意“次數”的表達方法

一次 once

兩次 twice

三次或三次以上用基數詞加上times，three times、five times、one hundred times.

表示“……幾次”的表達方法是：twice a month、once a month、three times a week、once a year.

6. be good for意為“對……有好處”，其反義詞為“be bad for”。

eg：Drinking milk is good for your health.

Eating too much sugar is bad for your teeth.

Reading English is good for studying English.

7. as for意為“就……而論”，“至于”

eg：As for fruit，I eat it sometimes.

8. want sb to do.意為“想讓某人做某事”。

eg：He wants me to do exercise every day.

His mother wants him to be a reporter.

有很多動詞后面用這種結構做動詞的復合賓語。

如：ask sb. to do sth.

tell sb. to do sth.

help sb. (to) do sth.等

9. exercise的用法。

（1）作可數名詞復數exercises。意為“運動、體操”。

（2）作不可數名詞，意為“練習、習題”。

eg：I have to do so much exercise.

He bought a new exercise book.

（3）作動詞，意為“練習、運動”。

eg：-How often do you exercise?

-I exercise every day.

1. pretty表示“十分”作副詞用，我們以前學過quite和very也有這種意思。其中它們的程度由淺入深為quite→pretty→very.

eg：He is quite serious.

It sounds pretty good.

Nina can sing English songs very well.

2. I exercise every day, usually when I come home from school.

我每天鍛煉身體，通常是放學后。

3. eating habits“飲食習慣”。

4. try to do sth意為“盡力去做某事”。

eg：Try to get here early.

注意這種表達。“to”為介詞。
