Demands for Unit 21

1. Read all the dialogues and texts 3 times and have one of your parents sign his/her name. Group leader checks the next day.

2. Duty tasks: a. Prepare an English Song for your classmates to learn.

b. Prepare a dialogue and a written form according to Ex 2&3 on page 31.

c. Prepare a short monologue (獨白) about “What I know about Beethoven”.

d. Prepare a dialogue discussing “What shall I do if I have lots of money”.

e. Act out what the passage about according to Ex 5 on page 101.

3. Copy the new words of this unit.

4. Group tasks: a. Prepare at least 3 photos or pictures for speaking in lesson 81.

b. Dictate the new words in group and the group leader report the result of the dictation to the assistant of English.

Period 1 Lesson 81

1. Listen to the first dialogue and finish the listening exercise in QTB(《質量監測》).

2. Answer the questions:

What is in the first photo? Lily is falling off her bike.

Did she hurt herself? No, she didn’t.

What is in the second photo? Lily is swimming.

How did she learn swimming? She learn all by herself/taught herself.

3. Language points:

1. Listen to the music silently and then discuss in group, write a short passage about the picture formed in your mind.

○1 Past continuous tense + when(at that time) + simple past tense

e.g I was walking along the road when they stopped me.

e.g. I wish to go home now. I wish I could go home now. I wish him to like the present.

○5 afford sth/to do sth. = have the time or money to do or for sth.

e.g. I can’t afford a car now. I can’t afford to buy a car now.

He is so busy that he can’t afford a long vacation.

○6 fun n. have fun/a lot of fun = enjoy oneself

e.g. I don’t see the fun of doing that. I think it is going to be fun.

It’s not good to make fun of the old.

Don’t believe him. He said that just for/in fun.
