冠詞

1. 種類: 不定冠詞和定冠詞及零冠詞.

2．用法：

2．1不定冠詞

1） 表示"一個"，意為one；指某人或某物，意為a certain。例如：

A Mr. Ling is waiting for you. 有位姓凌的先生在等你。

2） 代表一類人或物。例如：

A knife is a tool for cutting with. 刀是切割的工具。

3） 組成詞組或成語，

a few, a little, a lot of, a bit, a couple of,all of a sudden(突然), as a matter of fact(實際上), in a hurry(匆忙的), in a word(簡言之), have a good time(玩得愉快), do sb. a favour(幫忙), pay a visit to(訪問), as a rule(慣例), as a whole(總之), in a day or two(一兩天), in a way(在某種程度上), of a size(大小相同), have a word with sb.(與…交談), make a living(謀生), take a pride in(自豪), take a walk(break, bath, seat)(散步(休息、洗澡、就座)), a great deal of(大量), be a pity(遺憾), have a cold(headache, fever)(感冒(頭痛、發燒)), many a(許多), catch a cold(感冒).

2.2 定冠詞的用法

1）特指雙方都明白的人或物。例如： Take the medicine.把藥吃了。

2）上文提到過的人或事。例如：

He bought a house.　I've been to the house. 他買了幢房子。我去過那幢房子。

3）指世上獨一物二的事物，如the sun， the sky， the moon， the earth等。

4）與單數名詞連用表示一類事物，如the dollar 美元; the fox 狐貍；或與形容詞或分詞連用，表示一類人：the rich 富人; the living 生者。

5）用在序數詞和形容詞最高級，及形容詞only，very，same等前面。例如：

Where do you live? I live on the second floor. 你住在哪？我住在二層。

That's the very thing I've been looking for.　 那正是我要找的東西。

6）與復數名詞連用，指整個群體。例如：

They are the teachers of this school.（指全體教師）

7）表示所有，相當于物主代詞，用在表示身體部位的名詞前。例如：

She caught me by the arm.. 她抓住了我的手臂。

8）用在某些由普通名詞構成的國家名稱、機關團體、階級、等專有名詞前。例如：

the People's Republic of China 中華人民共和國 the United States 美國

9）用在表示樂器的名詞之前。例如： She plays the piano.　她會彈鋼琴。

10） 用在姓氏的復數名詞之前，表示一家人。例如： the Greens　 格林一家人 （或格林夫婦）

2.3 零冠詞的用法

1） 國名，人名前通常不用定冠詞：England，Mary。

2）泛指的復數名詞，表示一類人或事物時，可不用定冠詞。例如：

They are teachers. 他們是教師。

3）抽象名詞表示一般概念時，通常不加冠詞。例如：

Failure is the mother of success.失敗乃成功之母。

4）物質名詞表示一般概念時，通常不加冠詞，當表示特定的意思時，需要加定冠詞。例如：

Man cannot live without water.離開水人就無法生存。

5）在季節、月份、節日、 假日、日期、星期等表示時間的名詞之前，不加冠詞。例如：

We go to school from Monday to Friday. 我們從星期一到星期五都上課。

6）在稱呼或表示官銜，職位的名詞前不加冠詞。例如：

The guards took the American to General Lee. 士兵們把這個美國人送到李將軍那里。

7）在三餐、球類運動和娛樂運動的名稱前，不加冠詞，如have breakfast，play chess。

8）當兩個或兩個以上名詞并用時，常省去冠詞。例如：

I can't write without pen or pencil.沒有鋼筆和鉛筆，我就寫不了字。

9）當by 與火車等交通工具連用，表示一種方式時，中間無冠詞，如by bus，by train。

10） 特定詞組中不用冠詞

①. turn/ go 后作補語的名詞

turn writer/ go socialist = become a writer/ socialist

②. 在 引起的讓步狀語從句倒裝結構中

Child as he is, ----

Hero as he was, ----

③. 在某些獨立結構中.

He entered the room, book in hand.

但加上with 后用限定詞.

He entered the room, with a book in hand.

④. 序數詞作副詞,或作名詞表 “名次”時

First read fast.

He came first in the game.

⑤. 形容詞最高級作表語只用來同本身做比較時, 并無一定范圍.

Vegetables are best when they are fresh.

⑥. 常見詞組:

at war/ peace/ table/ work/college/ sea

by force/ air/ sea/ train

in bed/ hospital/ peace/ ink/ public/ time of

take possession of

lose heart

2． 4有無冠詞, 意義不同的詞組:

in course of 正在進行中 in the course of 在---期間, 在過程中

out of question 沒問題 out of the question 不可能

in charge of 負責,掌管 in the charge of 在---的主管下

in possession of 擁有 in the possession of 被---擁有

at table 在吃飯 at the table 坐在桌旁

in front of 在前面（外部 ） in the front of在前面（內部）

by sea 坐船 by the sea 在海邊

in case of 假使, 萬一 in the case of 就---而言, 至于

by day 在白天 by the day 按日, 按天

on watch 值班,守望 on the watch 看守著, 提防著

2.5 冠詞位置

1） 不定冠詞位置

不定冠詞常位于名詞或名詞修飾語前。注意：　

a. 位于such，what，many，half等形容詞之后。例如：

I have never seen such an animal. 我從來沒見過這樣的動物。

Many a man is fit for the job. 許多人適合這崗位。

b. 當名詞前的形容詞被副詞as, so, too, how, however, enough修飾時，不定冠詞應放在形容詞之后。例如：

It is as pleasant a day as I have ever spent. 我從未這么高興過。

So short a time 如此短的時間 Too long a distance 距離太遠了

c. quite，rather與單數名詞連用，冠詞放在其后。但當rather，quite 前仍有形容詞，不定冠詞放其前后均可，如：rather a cold day/a rather cold day。

d. 在as，though 引導的讓步狀語從句中，當表語為形容詞修飾的名詞時，不定冠詞放形容詞后。例如： Brave a man though he is，he trembles at the sight of snakes. 他盡管勇敢，可見到蛇還是發抖。

2） 定冠詞位置

定冠詞通常位于名詞或名詞修飾語前，但放在all， both，double，half，twice，three times等詞之后，名詞之前。例如：

All the students in the class went out.班里的所有學生都出去了。
