1.at present=at the present time=now

2.alive,living

①alive 通常作表語，后置定語和賓語補足語，living作表語和前置定語。

The fish is still alive(=The fish is still living)作表語。

Who is the greatest man a live(=Who is the greatest living man.)在世的人中，誰最偉大?作定語。

They kept a sick milu deer alive at the centre.(alive作賓語補足語)

注：以a開頭的形容詞均屬于表語形容詞，awake alone, asleep,afraid 一般只能作表語 ，需作賓語時，可用其它詞代替。

Thy boy is afraid.

而且這些表語形容詞有些不能和very連用，不能說very awake 而應說 wide awake；不說 very asleep 而說 fast asleep；不說very alone 而說 very much alone或all alone。另 外不以a開頭的表語形容詞有： glad、ill。

3.deer為單復數同形的詞，類似的有(fish,sheep,Chinese，Japanese,aircraft)

4.year by year. 逐年.類似的有day by day,one by one，step by step(逐步) year by year 強調動作的變化，另一類似短語year after year強調動作的重復。

common意為因常見而普通，或不足為奇的，反義詞為rare.引申為共同的，同有的。

Deer used to be common in China long ago,but now it is a kind of rare animal.

We have much in common. 我們有許多共同之處。

Usual 意為一貫如此的，或習慣性的。

As usual,he arrived early and started to work.

6.some day 和 one day

some day 可用于將來時和過去時，one day只能用于過去時。

down.
